Striker of the Season: Mario Gomez
Although Bayern didn’t have the best of Seasons their Spanish-German Striker Gomez had
a great one, especially better after a disappointing Season last year when he managed
just 10 Goals in 29 Games. Gomez joined Bayern after 7 Seasons with Stuttgart for a record
fee of around €30-35mn in 2009/10

Midfielder of the Season: Thomas Müller
Diego Maradona confused Müller for a ball boy and refused to sit in a press conference
with him and Müller returned the favour with his performance in Germany’s 4-0 thrashing
of Argentina. Having made his introduction in the World Cup and winning the Best Young
Player and the Golden Boot Muller continued his form in the League for Bayern.

Müller scored 12 goals and created 11 another in his 34 appearances and managed
almost 2 shots per game in just his 2nd season as a professional footballer, it was Louis Van

Defender of the Season: Mats Hummel
After failing to find a spot in the playing eleven in Bayern Hummel moved to Dortmund on
loan in 2008/09 and then made the move permanent the next season. Hummel adapted

at the heart of the Dortmund defence .

Weidenfellar joined Dortmund on a free transfer after making just 6 appearances in two
Seasons for FC Kaiserslautern as a replacement for Jens Lehmann who moved to Arsenal
and has been the first team Goalkeeper for the Borussians since then making 211 League
Appearances for the Borussians.
