This document outlines conventions of two music genres: dance music and bassline. Dance music conventions include being set in studios or clubs with raving, dancing with energy, minimal female clothing, bright flashing lights, vocals and graphics/green screening, and a fast upbeat tempo. Bassline conventions are similar to dance music but feature more youth involvement, remixing beats with effects like organ and dunk sounds, and it is an underground subgenre of dance that is emerging.
