This document announces a forum called "Full Spectrum" focusing on including deaf people and people with disabilities in LGBT groups and activities in the North West of Ireland. The forum will be held on November 13th, 2011 at the Sligo City Hotel from 9:30am to 5pm. It will provide an opportunity for individuals and groups representing deaf people and people with disabilities to share their experiences and needs with the LGBT community. The program will include deaf awareness training, a presentation on issues relating to physical and sensory disabilities, parallel sessions on topics like Asperger's syndrome and mental health, and a feedback session to set goals for inclusion.

You are invited to participate in a forum focussing on the
inclusion of Deaf people and people with disabilities in
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) groups
and activities in the North West. “Full Spectrum” will
provide an opportunity for individuals and groups
representing Deaf people and people with disabilities to
have their voices, experiences and needs heard and
understood by the LGBT community.
This forum will provide a unique opportunity to experience
the range and diversity that makes up the LGBT
community. While great strides have been made in the
last 50 years in relation to the status and rights of LGBT
people, Deaf peope and people with disabilities, those
who experience multiple exclusions on these grounds are
still marginalised and often invisible in Irish society. In
times of restricted resources, it is all the more important to
build alliances and strengthen solidarity between excluded
parts of the community.
