This document lists the names of dogs and cats in a foster care program before and after their names, and includes a short statement about how foster care saves lives and cannot be done without support.
Fostering a pet is a rewarding experience. You are helping both the animal you foster and the one who gets to fill the empty space at the shelter. Watch our slide show to learn what it takes to become a foster.

In Oct. 2015, 29 dogs abandoned in a North Shore home without food and water with no response from the owner despite posting notifications by the Humane Society. With no owner surfacing for days, the dogs were taken in to the care of the Hawaiian Humane Society where they were treated for medical conditions and placed in protective care. The owner was charged with 29 counts of animal cruelty and a judge awarded the dogs to the Hawaiian Humane Society. All dogs have been adopted.
A Haleiwa woman claimed she was "disciplining her dog" and brutally killed it. The dog died from repeated stab woulds and mutilation. The owner was arrested for felony animal cruelty. Despite the Hawaiian Humane Society’s case work as well the expert testimony we provided and a determined felony prosecutor, the judge acquitted the defendant in large part due to mental health experts who claimed she was momentarily insane.

Each attendee will receive a brand new TruCatch trap compliments of the Petco Foundation for all attendees who stay for the entire day
