FENG SHUI IN YOUR LIFE!
One of the most
common things that I
tell clients is to
improve the energy
of their homes is to
add live plants.
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
Why are plants so
important in our homes?
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
They are vital to
harnessing the
positive chi of
nature.
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
1. They restore and refresh the
air, which is often stagnant and
stale, due to our often-closed
windows. They also “eat”
chemical toxins.
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
2. They provide moisture, which is
important to reduce static electricity (you
know the shock you get when walking
across carpet and touching metal?).
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
3. Because of this, they keep positive
ion counts down. Positive ions keep
dust particles in the air which
contribute to allergies and asthma.
Negative ions, on the other hand,
keep our air cleaner. They are what
we experience at the ocean or a
waterfall.
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
4. Plants stimulate our senses. We
subconsciously connect and are
energized by the color green.
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
And, finally, according to feng
shui they symbolize health and
vitality. In fact, healthy growing
plants, placed in the right areas,
will enhance your ability to
attract money into your life!
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
So what can I say to a client that insists that
they kill plants every time?
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
I insist that they try one of these five
indoor plants.
They are not only very pretty, but they
are very hardy and can take a bit of
neglect (not that I suggest neglecting
any of these plants!)
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
Ready? So here we go…
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
# 1 – Snake plant
Not only are they cool looking, but
they convert CO2 to O2 at night,
opposite of what most plants do.
So it’s actually good for your
bedroom!
(And believe it or not, it’s also
called “Mother-in-Laws Tongue”!
Don’t believe me? Look it up!)
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
#2 – Golden pothos
I love the ones with
variegated leaves.
They are so easy to care for.
I have several in my home.
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
#3 – Dracenea
I have one of these on
my kitchen table and it’s
gorgeous! Again, love
those variegated leaves…
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
#4 – ZZ plant
You know what? I keep
talking about these plants
but have never bought one.
I’m going to get one to add
to my family room…
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
#5 – Jade plant
Jades can last for decades!
They are so pretty and
hardy.
And guess what? It’s also
called the Money Plant!
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
If all else fails…
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
If you still find that you kill your plants, then why not purchase
fresh flowers once a week at your supermarket or local
farmer’s market. It will bring a healthy life force energy in your
home.
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
Plants to avoid if you’re not good with
plants? That’s easy…
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
Bonsai.
In my experience, they are
expensive and very sensitive
to their surroundings. I love
them, but they are very
challenging.
LUMINOUS-SPACES.COM
I have ferns because they are
great “air filters.”
However, ferns easily dry out
during winter in northern
climates. They needs lots of
moisture to stay healthy. care.
