Firefox 3 will include new features such as support for animated PNG images, improved cross-domain requests, offline storage capabilities similar to Flash, and a new JavaScript library. It will also enhance SVG rendering, support tabbed browsing, improve stability, and use SQLite to store bookmarks and history with a true session model. Performance has also been improved through optimizations to the rendering engine and user interface.
