McDowell's also insulated the exterior walls of the fireplace chase and installed Durock and a stone wall from floor to ceiling around the new fireplace.

Customer wanted some sort of gas appliance that would provide
significant heat to make the family room an enjoyable place for the
family to gather.

3. McDowell’s recommended & installed a new Regency Direct Vent Gas
Fireplace. We also insulated the exterior walls of the chase with paper
backed insulation; to keep drafts at bay.
Blown insulation should never be used in Chimney Chases.

4. Here we’ve installed Durock over additional framing to support a new
stone wall from floor to ceiling. We have a full time mason on staff.
