  • #7 No, Congressman Takano’s office is not allowed to write or review grant proposals.
  • #8 Federal grants rarely cover all the costs of a project. Grants often provide a portion of the funds needed for a given project and many grants require non-federal matching funds. This is done because granters want to know that your project will be sustainable after the end of your grant period.
  • #9 Is there already a state program that could fund the project? Will the project benefit the community or just the individual? How many people and who will benefit? Competitive: What does the benefit/cost ratio look like? Match: How much cash match can your organization contribute?
