1) The document reports on coordinated inauthentic behavior (CIB) campaigns detected and removed by Facebook in December 2020. It summarizes findings from 17 networks engaged in domestic and foreign election interference and public debate manipulation across multiple countries. 2) Many of the campaigns targeted domestic audiences for elections and political issues in countries like Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Indonesia and Morocco. Some targeted audiences outside their countries. 3) Early detection limited the reach of most campaigns, but collaboration with researchers, journalists and civil society organizations was important for investigations and taking action according to local policies.
