value of United Arab Emirates
(UAE) in various sectors in
Indonesia is considered big
enough. Unfortunately most
invested investments are
using third party hands, such
as Singapore and Hong Kong.

efforts to invest directly in
Indonesia. The effort, he said,
began with the visit of President
Joko Widodo on September 13,
2015 and then to the United Arab
Emirates and followed by a
business forum that brought
together Indonesian and UAE
delegations organized by the
Embassy of the Republic of
Indonesia in the UAE with
Indonesia Investment Promotion
Center (IIPC) BKPM in Emirates
Palace, Abu Dhabi on October 26,
2016 at the Indonesia-UAE
Business Forum event.
Together, the Government of
Indonesia's move is also followed
up by the UAE Government. "Two
months ago there was a visit from
UAE Energy Minister Suhail
Mohammed Faraj Al Mazrouei
who also met with the President,
and by the end of 2017 there will
also be several meetings to
encourage economic cooperation
between the UAE and Indonesia,"

in various bilateral meetings
between Indonesia & UAE, the
Government of Republic of
Indonesia offers a number of
sectors as investment target of
UAE. "Mr. President wants us to
develop new sectors, of course
Indonesia is very superior in the
tourism sector, e-commerce or
digital economy," he said.
According to Mr. Thomas
Lembong, on the contrary to
Indonesian businessmen, the
UAE is a very common place to
be a hub for regional activities in
the Middle East. "So maybe Abu
Dhabi and Dubai is the place
that is considered as the most
ideal by many Indonesian
businessmen if you want to
establish a hub or regional office
in the Middle East. So we would
like to introduce more both
business or ruler,“ he added.

is the lesson learned by

delegation of UAE and

delegation visited Mubadala
Petroleum, an oil and gas company
from the UAE already operated in
Indonesia. The Mubadala Petroleum
said that there are some
requirements to do to make the
investment can be done promptly
and more precise. Firstly, comply
the regulations, secondly, build
relationships with the Government
and institutions related to our
business, and thirdly, provide more
benefits to the local communities.

Business
Visit
On day three, the delegation of
UAE visited Industrial Area MM
2100 in Bekasi West Java. During
the visit, the delegation got
much information related to
industrial development in the
region.
Whatever the business and its
investment, the industrial zone
is ready to cooperate with
investors from UAE. In addition,
various businesses can be
developed in the industrial area.
In this occasion, the director of
MM2100, Mr Wijaya Surya said
that MM2100 will also
expanding more land, due to the
high demand from various
Indonesian or foreign companies
wishing to expand its business
and production base in MM
2100, therefore, In this
opportunity, MM2100 can get
investors from UAE to develop
industrial area more modern,

15. The UAE delegation also had a factory visit
to Mayora factory, a packaged snack food
company and Bogasari Factory a flour
producer plant. These companies are very
popular and already sell and ship their
product throughout the world, espacially
also sold and shipped to UAE.
They had an experience to see directly
how snack food are produced, and
packaged by industrial machinary and
involving many labor force. In the factory
they can taste the finished food directly,
fresh from the oven.
