Editor's Notes

  • #2 Hello, my name is… And today I’d like to talk about new world of on-demand services
  • #3 But first, let’s take a step back That’s how Moscow taxi market looked like back in 2012 when we launched our GetTaxi app here You had to wait 1 hour, even if you could plan in advance the minimum fare was too high for short rides, most people were forced to street hail those illegal drivers and to hope they would be safe And we promised to change it! (next slide)
  • #4 We set some ambitious targets. Actually when we said about 15 minutes arrival time and 100 RUB minimal fare – none believed us. Indeed, we were wrong! (next slide)
  • #5 It was impossible to imagine 5min arrival time for taxi in Moscow back then in 2012 Regarding minimum fare – I don’t even have to play with currencies here  it’s actually reduced from 15 to 1 USD ! And people now get annoyed when driver asks to rate him! All of this happened just in couple of years. But why it was possible?
  • #6 Technology efficiencies – supply optimization Efficiency of scale – ETA and reliability Perpetual ride concept brought the real price down without compromising on driver pay Feedback loop for quality improvement Instant payment methods Loyalty and customer support infra And all of this stays relevant when we think about other verticals. (next slide)
  • #7 We are about to disrupt other verticals of essential products and services. By fundamentally improving: availability, pricing, quality So, what ambitious target we should set for ourselves regarding to these verticals? Are we going to surprise ourselves again? And which verticals we would like to start with? (next slide)
  • #8 (Not sure we need this, just in case you’d like to go into details)
  • #9 Demand is going to shift from other formats to on-demand
