所謂「名詞」(英文簡寫成 N.)就是指動物、植物或東西的名稱,如「人、獅子、

情感」等。世界上的名詞,可分為「可數」及「不可數」等兩種,如「人、獅子、荔枝」
等,可以很清楚地數得出來,就叫做「可數名詞」;但有些根本無法數,或太細
小,以致很難數,就叫做「不可數名詞」,如「空氣、光線、愛國心、情感」等。
英文中可數名詞複數的形成:
一個單數的可數名詞,要形成複數形,通常是直接在該名詞的字尾加上 s 就好
