On World Water Day, the United Nations highlights the correlation between water and energy. Up to 90% of the increase in water use will come from developing countries as their economies transition. Both global energy consumption and demand for renewable energy are expected to increase significantly by 2030 and 2035. As water and energy demands rise in emerging economies, countries must address these interlinked challenges through public policies and governance to ensure equitable access for all.
