LILO is a bootloader that loads Linux and other operating systems from hard disks or floppy disks. It uses configuration settings stored in /etc/lilo.conf to define boot options and locations of operating system images. LILO builds tables mapping sectors used by files needed for booting and must be reinstalled when changes are made. It loads operating systems by BIOS routines and has limitations including slow loading, limited number of boot options, and BIOS restrictions on disk access.
Minor Presentation - Distributed file systemiamumr
This document proposes a distributed file system that stores data by indexing the locations of file blocks within the infinite non-repeating decimal expansion of pi. It would divide files into fixed or variable sized blocks, search for the block locations in pi using algorithms like Gauss-Legendre or Browein's, and store an index mapping files to block locations. Data could then be retrieved by computing the value of pi at the indexed locations using the Bailey–Borwein–Plouffe formula. However, the system has problems with high computation costs and potential for large index sizes. It suggests addressing this through GPU clustering and a virtual filesystem to enable cloud-based cold storage applications with high storage optimization.
A bootloader loads an operating system after hardware tests. It begins by initializing hardware and loading the BIOS. The BIOS then loads the master boot record from the disk, which loads secondary bootloaders. These load the operating system by accessing memory in both real and protected modes. The boot process involves loading kernel files and an initial ramdisk to start processes and mount the full filesystem.

2. Elefantea, munduan bizi den lurtarrik handiena da.
• Elefanteak belarjaleak dira.
• Animalia hauek tronparekin lortzen dute janaria eta
gero ahora eramaten dute. Egunero 150kg jan
dezakete eta 100l ur edan. Hori dela eta, bere
hortzak errez gastatzen dira.
• 60-70 urte dituztenean hil egiten dira, bere hortzak
oso desgastatuak daudenez ezin dutelako jan.
• Asiako elefanteari jateko belarra gustatzen zaio
batez ere eta Afrikakoari berriz, zuhaitzetako
hostoak.
3. Elefanteak Elefantidoen familiakoak
dira
Elefante asiarra Elephasmaximus
izenarekin sailkatzen da eta elefante
afrikarra Loxonta afrikana izenarekin.
Elefante afrikarren bi azpi-espezie
daude: oihaneko elefantea
Loxontaafricana cyclotis eta sabanako
elefantea
4. • Elefante asiarraren lau azpi-espezie
daude: Sri Lankako elefantea,
Sumatrako elefantea, Indiako elefantea
eta Malasiako elefantea.
5. • Pleistozenoan, kontinente guztietatik
zabaltzen zen, Antartidan eta Australian
izan ezik. Gaur egun bi elefante mota
besterik ez daude: asiarra eta afrikarra,
Elefanteen arbasoen artean mamutak
eta mastodonteak daude; kobetan
aurkitutako pinturei ezker dakigu bizi
izan zirela.
6. • Elefanteen ezaugarri berezienetako bat
tronpa da. Elefanteak tronpa, belarrez eta
hostoz elikatzeko eta ura xurgatzeko
erabiltzen du. Elefanteek egunean 225kg-ko
materia begetala jaten eta 190 litro ur edaten
dute. Tronparekin objektu txikiak
zehaztasunez hartu ahal dituzte; adibidez,
hosto bat edo lurrera eroritako fruitu bat.
Gainera, oso organo sentikorra da, usaina
eta zaporea antzeman ahal ditu.•
7. Elefantearen betortzak burezurrean
daude sartuta.Betortz batzuk 3,5 metro
neurtzera heldu daitezke.Elefanteek
hostoak, belarra, zuhaitzen egur azala
nahiz egurra jaten dute. Horregatik
egunero elikagai asko murtxikatu
behar dute eta hortzak desgastatu
egiten dira.
8. • Elefanteak, oso pisutsuak izan arren,
animalia isilak dira ibiltzean.Elefanteak
ibiltzean, 6,4 km/h-ko abiaduran doa, eta
etsaiengatik ihes egitean 40 km/h-ko
abiadura hartu dezake. Igerilari bikaina da,eta
ibai zabalak igerian zeharkatzen ditu neke
barik.
•
•
9. • Elefanteak, bere belarriak,aireatzeko edota
beste elefanteei keinuak egiteko erabiltzen
dituzte; baina batez beste,entzuteko
erabiltzen dituzte. Nahiko gutxi ikusten dute
eta bere begiak txikiak dira.
• Usaintasuna oso garatua daukate, eta tronpa
organorik sentikorrena da; organo honekin
elefanteak edozein motako usainak antzeman
ditzakete.
11. • UGALKETA:
•
• Emea urteko edozein denboraldian egoten da har
bila. Normalean, emeek kume bat besterik ez dute,
eta kumeak elefante-taldeari jarraitzen dio jaio eta
egun batzuk geroago. Kumeak bere amaren titietatik
elikatuko da esnez bigarren edo bosgarren urterarte.
Harraparien erasoetara joaten dira asko eta
gehienak urte bat bete baino lehen hiltzen dira.
Emeek, bere bizitza osoan zehar, 5-12 kume inguru
izaten du.
12. • Elefante afrikarra etxekotu ahal izan arren, elefante
asiarra gizakien laguntzaile on bat bihurtu da.
Normalean,gatibualdian dauden elefanteak ez dira
ugaltzen, horregatik elefanteak basatiak direnean
harrapatzen dituzte. Elefanteak bi modutara
harrapatzen dituzte normalean:
• Gizon multzo batek elefanteak ikaratzen dituzte
hauek tranpara eraman arte.
• Elefante kume bat harrapatzen dute, gero elefante
heldua harrapatzeko. Modu hau,lehena baino
gutxiago erabiltzen da.
13. Gaur egungo elefanteak Pleistozenoan bizi ziren hiru
espezietatik datoz:mastodonteak alde batetik, eta
mamutak eta elefanteak bestetik.Lehenengo bi
espezieak desagertu egin dira, eta azken hauen bi
genero bakarrik geratzen dira:elefante afrikarra eta
elefante asiarra.
• Elefante afrikarren biztanleria asko jaitsi da
azkenengo hamar urte hauetan. Horregatik,
elefanteak parke naturaletan eta erreserbetan
sartuak izan dira, hori dela eta elefanteen biztanleria
asko handitu da denbora gutxian. Elefanteen
biztanleriaren handiketak,ekosistema batzuk
desagertzeko arriskuan jarri ditu.
14. • Batzuetan jendeak, elefanteak hiltzen ditu
bere landaketak eta bizilekua zaintzeko,
baina jende gehienak bere marfilezko eta
betortzengatik ehizatzen ditu.
• Marfilarekin gauza asko egiten ziren,
adibidez xakeko piezak.Gaur egungo legeek,
marfilaren salketa debekatzen dute.
