Edurne Pasabán Lizarribar is a Spanish mountaineer born in Tolosa, Guipúzcoa in 1973. She was the first woman in history to ascend all 14 eight-thousanders, the highest mountains on each of the seven continents, and the 21st person overall to complete this feat. In 2001, she reached the top of Everest, her first eight-thousander, with the help of artificial oxygen and support from several climbing partners.
