Chapter 1 Generation Introduction
1.1 Introduction
Diode laser hair removal technology is based on the selective dynamics of light and
heat. The laser goes through the skin surface to reach the root of hair follicles.
Diode laser machine adopts 808nm, particularly effective to hair follicle melanocytes
without injury surrounding tissue. The laser light can be absorbed by hair shaft and
hair follicles in the melanin, and converted into heat, thus increasing the hair follicle
temperature. When the temperature rises high enough to irreversibly damage the hair
follicle structure, which disappear after a period natural physiological processes of hair
follicles and thus achieve the purpose of permanent hair removal.
1.2 Treatment Parameters
Before treatment initiation, the operator selects the appropriate frequency and
enters the pulse width based on patient’s skin type or lesion depth/diameter and the
requested fluence; namely, the amount of energy expressed in J/cm2
to which the
treated area is exposed.

  • 3. - 3 - Chapter 1 Generation Introduction 1.1 Introduction Diode laser hair removal technology is based on the selective dynamics of light and heat. The laser goes through the skin surface to reach the root of hair follicles. Diode laser machine adopts 808nm, particularly effective to hair follicle melanocytes without injury surrounding tissue. The laser light can be absorbed by hair shaft and hair follicles in the melanin, and converted into heat, thus increasing the hair follicle temperature. When the temperature rises high enough to irreversibly damage the hair follicle structure, which disappear after a period natural physiological processes of hair follicles and thus achieve the purpose of permanent hair removal. 1.2 Treatment Parameters Before treatment initiation, the operator selects the appropriate frequency and enters the pulse width based on patient’s skin type or lesion depth/diameter and the requested fluence; namely, the amount of energy expressed in J/cm2 to which the treated area is exposed. 1.3. Use of this Manual Vanoo Diode D8 is designed to meet international safety and performance standards. Personnel operating the system must have a thorough understanding of the proper operation of the machine. This manual has been prepared to aid staff and technical personnel to understand and operate the system. Do not operate the system before reading this manual and gaining a clear understanding of system operation. If any part of this manual is not clear, please contact Shanghai Vanoo Laser Technology for clarification. 1.4. Maintenance D8 is a precision device that requires periodic routine maintenance service, which must be performed by Shanghai Vanoo Laser Technology authorized technical personnel. Failure to obtain service voids all warranties expressed and implied. Please contact Shanghai Vanoo Laser or your local representative for details.
  • 4. - 4 - 1.5. Modification of the System Unauthorized modification of the hardware, software or specifications of the D8 system voids all warranties, expressed and implied. Shanghai Vanoo Laser Technology Co., Ltd takes no responsibility for the use or operation of such a modified device. 1.6. Resale Inspection The D8 is a precision device. If any Shanghai Vanoo Laser Technology Co., Ltd is resold by anyone other than an authorized sales representative, Shanghai Vanoo Laser Technology offers a resale inspection by a Shanghai Vanoo Laser technician to assure that the device is working in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
