The brief here was to use reclaimed wood and materials to create a new interior for a hairdressers in Bristol. We were lucky to have a ready supply of handles, mouldings and door furniture from the workshop of two generations of carpenters. Each station was designed with the particular stylist in mind and each chose many of the elements which went in to making the finished result.
This is a detail from an entirely panelled grand hall in a large Somerset country house. I worked on the interior with a professional paint specialist and completed much of the hall in oak grained panels which were set on plywood backing.
A dresser commissioned for a swanky home in Bristol created from a former Chapel and boys school. This commission asked for something that combined traditional and contemporary with a little spoony twist. A plain but well proportioned Welsh dresser was painted with a hard wearing acrylic satin, handles and hooks were made from silver spoons and forks. 2012

Part of the exhibition set for South West Arts Prize winner Barry Cawston's Avonmouth to the Amazon art exhibition. Part of the brief was to gracefully escape the tyranny of the ubiquitous white cube in exhibiting Barry's huge landscapes and architectural photographs.
These shelves were made from the leftover material from another less interesting task. The shelves are crate like and extremely robust. You could store elephants on them.
A bathroom cabinet for a Bristolian. This cabinet combines reclaimed ash floorboards, welsh roofing slate dating from 1860, hand-made steel hinges and a nice Mermaid's mirror of unknown origin.

This is a shop counter built for 'The Little Shop' in Bristol 2013. The counter is constructed from old scaffold boards, Victorian floorboards and a church window rescued from a builders skip. Very cheap and very cheerful.

The structure also includes a painted mural extending over two walls and includes a number of meaningful and whimsical elements relation to the writer's life. The basic premiss is a washing line but the finished piece includes many other elements.
Part of the set for the first of five successive art exhibitions I have designed and constructed for the Milestones Trust. The show has developed from a simple, largely two dimensional exhibition to an entire art environment and interactive installation. This picture demonstrates a simple, imaginative exhibition layout which breaks up a large rectangular space in a ussful way.
A 'box' constructed furniture suite for a holiday cottage. The sofa's had to double as guest beds and enhance the look of a stone walled, converted stable whilst maintaining a contemporary feel. Plywood and raw fabrics. 2007
This is the base structure for a gallery space commissioned by artist EJ Nutbrown in 2011. The finished Gallery is the property of the artist but this picture shows the parts of the structure which I enjoyed manufacturing the most. The structure was designed and installed by Marcus FitzGibbon. The finished, walled gallery enclosed the trunk of a tree and was installed for a period of one week during the summer of 2011.
A commission for artist Kathryn Campbell Dodd. The Birdhouse is a video installation container designed to be built and rebuilt and exhibited in many locations. The Birdhouse was toured through Wales on an arts council funded touring exhibition during October 2008.
