Son:
Yeah, Jake, Sarah, Lyla and I just made plans.
Mother:
But I just spent 2 hours cooking the chicken.
Son:
Yeah, but in comparison to Frank’s burgers your cooking tastes like ass.
(Laughs)
Mother grabs a kitchen utensil and throws it at her son
Son:
What the hell?
He stands up and goes over to his mother. He slaps her and she falls to
the ground. He walks over to her purse and takes £20 from her wallet.
Son:
It was just a joke.
He sits back down but the dining table and continues to roll his
cigarette.
Mother tries to get up, using the oven to pull herself up. She opens
carefully so that the son doesn’t notice and runs out of the room and up
the stairs.
Son:
Oh don’t cry. Dad always said you were an ugly crier
Scene 4:
The mother re-enters the kitchen, now wearing a jacket. She grabs her
purse and then leaves the house.
The son gets out his phone and starts playing music on the speaker in the
kitchen. He finishes rolling his cig and places it on the table. He
fumbles for his lighter in his pocket. He gets it out and holds it up to
his cigarette and lights it.
