Don’t Bake My Heart! My Achy Breaky Heart!
• Students will be assigned an organ.
• Students will be required to bake a cake in the shape of their
assigned organ.
• Each specific area of the organ should be labeled.
• Each student will be required to take a picture of their cake.
• The picture should be uploaded to Blogger along with a 500 word
summary of the organ.
• This project will be 45% of your final exam grade. If you do not have
access to the needed materials or resources please contact me via
email robbielgoodman@Comcast.net or you can see me after
class.
• Cake Pan
• Different icing colors
• Labels
• Measuring Cups
• Cake Mix
• Cooking Oil
• Eggs
• Oven
• Timer
• Utensils to create the organs details
• Bowl
• Mixer
• Computer
• Internet Access
Materials
Oven Safety
• Set your oven to the temperature listed in the directions. Do not
turn up the temperature in order to cook your cake faster.
• Make sure you have oven mitts. Check the oven mitts for holes.
• Locate the fire extinguisher prior to placing your cake Into the oven.
• Follow your house rules. If your parents require adult supervision
please make sure you honor their request.
• Have a first aide kit with burn cream handy.
• If you have a life threatening emergency remember to call 911 for
assistance.
Put Down The BRICK! Students will be required to use Technology!
• Research organ details
through google and/or online
medical journals.
• Create a blogger account.
• Practice taking pictures and
uploading them to blogger.
• If you have issues contact me
48 hours before the
assignment is due.
Last Years
Cakes!
Critical Thinking
• Students will need to be organized. This is not an assignment you can complete
last minute. Please use your time wisely.
• Think about what organ you were assigned. Have a game plan on what colors
you will use and the ingredients that will be needed.
• Create a grocery list.
• If you are not going to use premix flour , you will need to search homemade
recipes online.
• If you were creating this for someone who had a peanut allergy, what foods
should you avoid?
• Remember to watch your Calories, Sugar, and Fat!
