Natália is doing her PhD at the Department of Ethnology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences where she participates in the project "Civil activities as a determinant of sustainable development of the city (ethnological perspective)". Since 2012, she has been working for Pontis Foundation being responsible for the administration of the business volunteering event “Our City”. Its aim is to encourage meaningful cooperation between public administration, municipality, private sector, non-profit sector, and public through volunteering activities. This year it will be held for the 8th year in several Slovak cities.
Instruction manuals, users guides, and other types of documentation have always been the way manufacturers distributed the how-to information about their products to customers, as well as sales and support staff and other employees. This kind of catch-all, one-size document forces every user to sift through irrelevant information, applying their own context to find solutions to their problems. Even when they are successful, users remember the experience as painful and tedious. There must be a better way. In 2008 Kees van Mansom and Thei Geurts developed the concept of Documentation 3.0. Using semantic technology, we can create the smart documentation that guides each customer through the actions, decisions, and choices they can take to maximize their user experience.

Katarína D.F. Siposová is a Fulbright visiting student researcher in 2017 at the State University of New York, New Paltz. Her schedule shows she is available from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. based on the times listed.
Michal Novotny's thesis focuses on calculating electron transport in 2D materials using theoretical and computational methods. It discusses how quantum physics advanced our understanding of atomic behavior, allowing simulations of increasingly complex systems. Specifically, it examines graphene, the first 2D material discovered in 2004, and borophene, looking at their unique properties and the benefits of theoretical modeling over experimental synthesis, which can be difficult, expensive, and toxic. The thesis aims to provide cheap, safe, and limitless study of electron behavior in these new 2D materials through computational simulations.
This study analyzed the physiological and psychological experiences of fans attending men's and women's basketball games at the University of Connecticut to quantify levels of collective effervescence as a proxy for group bonding. Participants wore sensors to measure heart rate during the games and completed pre- and post-game questionnaires. Multidimensional recurrence quantification analysis showed higher heart rate synchronization among fans at a hard-fought women's game, suggesting unexpected uncertainty can increase attunement. Breaks like halftime disrupted synchronization by shifting focus from the game. Overall, gender played a limited role compared to the game trajectory, with fans of women's games maintaining synchronization during halftime, indicating a qualitatively different fan experience and understanding of participation.
Barbora Grambličková spent 6 months at the University of California, Berkeley as a Fulbright scholar finalizing her doctoral research. Her research focused on the position of researchers and investors in newly established start-up and spin-off companies in the area of research, development, and innovation. Specifically, she examined the dynamics between researchers and investors in these companies and ways to eliminate tensions through shareholders' agreements. During her visit, she traveled to Yosemite National Park and Hawaii.

14. Platforma dobrovoľníckych
centier a organizácií
• budujeme dobrovoľnícke centrá a riešime ich udržateľnosť,
• presadzujeme finančnú podporu dobrovoľníctva,
• riešime legislatívne otázky,
• rozvíjame pracovnú pozíciu koordinátorov a koordinátoriek
dobrovoľníkov v mimovládnych a verejných organizáciách,
• presadzujeme dobrovoľníctvo ako nástroj prípravy pre trh práce.
15. Zopár čísel a faktov
• SK: 27,5 % ľudí sa zapája do „formálneho dobrovoľníctva“ (2011)
• Motivujú nás „hodnoty“, sociálne interakcie, pochopenie, sebaúcta,
reciprocita a rozvoj kariéry
• Dôvody nezapojenia sa: slabá informovanosť a nepožiadanie o pomoc
• Trendy:
• nárast expertných dobrovoľníkov
• projektovo orientované a ad hoc dobrovoľníctvo
• sebecký dobrovoľník
• nárast profesionalizácie manažmentu dobrovoľníkov
• zapojenie sa do dobrovoľníctva a životná fáza
17. Aké sú oblasti, kde môžete pôsobiť?
Ochrana životného prostredia
Sociálna oblasť
Humanitné organizácie a organizácie na ochranu ľudských
práv
Kultúrna oblasť
Športová a vzdelávacia činnosť
Dobrovoľníctvo v zahraničí
Expertné dobrovoľníctvo a iné
18. Hranice a etika v dobrovoľníctve
• Aká je moja motivácia? Čo by
som chcel/a robiť a prečo?
• Aká je organizácia, pre
ktorú chcem dobrovoľníčiť?
• Vie to s dobrovoľníkmi?
• Ako sa organizácia o mňa
postará?
• Pripraví ma?
• Aké sú benefity jednej aj
druhej strany?
• Som lacná pracovná sila?
• Vždy uvádzať „dôkazy“ – čo konkrétne som robil/a, aké
zručnosti som získal/a, akú zodpovednosť som mal/a
(rozmýšľajte o tom, čo ste nadobudli počas dobrovoľníctva)
• Hovoriť priamo o dobrovoľníctve ako o pracovnej skúsenosti –
spomenúť počet hodín, frekvenciu, pravidelnosť , druh
činnosti, opis, nadobudnuté zručnosti
21. Dobrovoľníctvo v CV
• Pomenujte svoju dobrovoľnícku pozíciu
• Nazvite ju dobrovoľnícka „práca“
• Uveďte, čo dôležité ste dokázali (čísla, zvládnutie
určitých situácií, úspechy) a zdôraznite svoje
povinnosti
• Používajte slová, ktoré sa viažu k pracovnej
pozícii, o ktorú sa uchádzate
22.
23. D-zručnosti pre Zamestnanie
• online nástroj, vďaka ktorému si dobrovoľníci a
dobrovoľníčky uvedomia, pomenujú, zaznamenajú a preukážu
kompetencie, ktoré počas dobrovoľníckej činnosti získali
alebo si rozvinuli
• koordinátor dobrovoľníkov spolupracuje s dobrovoľníkom na
vyplnení formulára a zašle ho Univerzitu Mateja Bela v
Banskej Bystrici
• Univerzita Mateja Bela vystaví dobrovoľníkovi certifikát
na základe opisu a dôkazov o získaných kompetenciách,
ktoré dobrovoľník a koordinátor predložia v online
formulári
• Certifikát si môže zaradiť k životopisu a kompetencie v
životopise uviesť
