WORK EXPERIENCE
Python Developer at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch: Interned for the summer of 2015; worked on Project ‘BookMap’, a Web Application to
maintain the trading books used by banks using Python and Sandra DB. Worked in ‘Quartz’, a proprietary platform of the bank.
Projects worked on during Summer Internship at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch:
1. Generated reconciliation reports for identifying breaks during feeds from the legacy system.
2. Developed a set of tools to profile calls in BookMap, then used it to stress-test theapplication by simulating multiple concurrent users across
Development, User Acceptance Testing, and Production environments. Provided a quick way to benchmark current performance and measure
the impact of various optimization.
3. Worked on JIRA tickets to fix production bugs during the course of the Internship.
4. Designed UI to enable business users to tweak Risk Area to a different Risk Desk to identify the number of trading books affected during this
process.
Java Developer at University of IllinoisatChicago:Working on a project for ‘Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning’. This project analyses
the air quality in the sub-zoned Chicago counties, and also computes the demand vs supply curve of public transportation in these sub-zones,
based on the data sets obtained during the first quarter of 2015. Programming in Java and visualization of the curve is being implemented using
d3.js. Implemented the Google Maps API for reverse geocoding and distance finder matrix.
PROJECT AWARDS
Java Developer for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Best Project Award: TCS, India’s biggest IT services company, awarded our team project
“Bus RouteNetwork”the best project award in thecontest held to select a proposalfor the State Government transportation website. Our project
was selected from among 490 projects for its innovativeness, efficient algorithms and user intuitive design.
Android App Development - Message exchangesystem in Wi-Fi-hotspotsusing Multi-hop delivery: Won thebest undergraduate research project
award for my project based on MANET (MobileAdhocNetworks). This was designed to connect all the Wi-Fi routers on campus using Multihop
technology and enable registered students on the network to exchange messages. The IMEI number was used for registration in order to reduce
the traffic on GSM and still be effective during natural calamities and disasters.
