The Student Body: Diverse Learners I. Diversity of backgrounds Ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, nationality, ability/disability, etc.  (31.6 years old: all students and 27.6 years old: college-credit students, 29% minority, ~570 disabled students per year*) II. Diversity of learning Multiple learning styles Multiple  academic experiences III. Implications on Bellevue’s student body and learning services Academic Transfer Programs, 46%* Professional/technical, 30%* Basic Skills and Other, 24%* Necessity to address varying backgrounds, interests, and needs *data retrieved from http://bellevuecollege.edu/40years/bcctoday/
Student Success Measure: CIRCLE CIRCLE: Collaboration, Innovation, Research, Community,  Learning and Evaluation   Collaboration : Maintain partnerships with academic departments, other support services, and partnerships with successful Learning Centers at other institutions Innovation : Consistently upgrade technology, e.g.website  Research : Stay current on recent developments in student learning strategies that address diverse learners   Community : Cultivate a sense of inclusion, participation and scholarship for all staff and students Learning : Enhance student learning and tutoring skills Evaluation : Assessment of students’ academic skill set and track student feedback through surveys
