ever increasing. Every member is enlisted
on a particular serial of Vote Number. For

the legal practitioners and work under the
statutory supervision of the Punjab Bar
Council (Lahore): which works under the
provisions and rules of the “Legal
Practitioners & Bar Councils Act, 1973”.
And under the apex Bar of the country
called Pakistan Bar Council; and the
Punjab Bar Council, Lahore.

Advocates of DBA Kasur, who participate
in bar elections every year and elect their
bar representatives since emergence of
Pakistan in 1947.
In 2016 there are 2 major groups namely
Ittehad Group and Ittefaq Group. These
groups usually nominate their panels of
bar representatives and run campaigns in

their support and canvassing for their
elections respectively.
There is no restriction on any of the
member of the DBA Kasur to be the
candidate for as many terms as a member
of this bar, wishes to contest elections for
any seat or slot of the DBA Kasur.
A number of members of the DBA Kasur,
are honoured to be elected once, twice,
thrice or even for more terms in their
respective offices.
Interestingly, Shafiq Akram Sh. Advocate
was elected President for three
consecutive terms i.e. for the years 1947,
1948 and 1949. However, he was
honoured to serve 9 times as the President
Kasur Bar Association.
Another member of the DBA Kasur Sardar
Qurban Ali Dogar Advocate was also
elected President of the District Bar Kasur
for three consecutive terms for the years
2003, 2004 and 2005. However, he was
honoured to serve 4 times as the President
Kasur Bar Association.
In this way by winning elections as the
Presidents of District Bar Kasur, both Sh.
Shafiq Akram Advocate and Sardar
Qurban Ali Dogar Advocate have enjoyed a
unique honour of their hat-tricks
respectively.
It is also pertinent to narrate that Sh.
Shafiq Akram Advocate won elections as
President District Bar Kasur, for 9 terms.
He was elected first time in 1947 and last
time in 1980.
Sardar Qurban Ali Dogar Advocate was
elected for 4 terms as President District
Bar Kasur. He was also elected as the
Member Punjab Bar Council (Kasur Seat
2009 to 2014). And also serve as first and
sole Chairman District Public Safety
Commission Kasur under the Police Order
2002.

Kasur was elected as the President of the
District Bar Kasur as well as elected as

Advocate General Punjab.
Ch. Muhammad Tahir Advocate is a
member of the District Bar Kasur and was
elected as the Member Punjab Bar Council
(Kasur Seat) for 2 terms. He was also
elected as Vice President Supreme Court
Bar Association Pakistan.
Likewise, Muhammad Saeed Ansari
