INSTALLATION
Engine Not Disturbed
    1. Using engine oil, lubricate the O-ring.
    2. Install or connect the following:
            o Distributor
NOTE: Be sure to engage the distributor drive gear or tangs with the camshaft gear or
slot. Align the mark that was made on the distributor housing with the mark that was
       made on the cylinder head.
           o Distributor hold-down bolt(s)
           o Electrical connector(s)
           o Distributor cap
           o Negative battery cable
    3. Start the engine and check or adjust the ignition timing.
Engine Disturbed
    1. Remove or disconnect the following:
o Spark plug wire from the No. 1 cylinder spark plug
o Spark plug from the No. 1 cylinder
    2. Press a thumb over the spark plug hole.
    3. Using a wrench on the crankshaft pulley, rotate the crankshaft until pressure is felt at
the spark plug hole, indicating the piston is approaching TDC on the compression stroke.
Continue rotating the crankshaft until the crankshaft pulley mark aligns with the timing
         cover indicator.
    4. Place the distributor rotor in position so that it aligns with the No. 1 spark plug wire
         tower on the distributor cap.
    5. Using engine oil, lubricate the O-ring.
    6. Install or connect the following:
             o Distributor
NOTE: Be sure to engage the distributor drive gear or tangs with the camshaft gear or
slot. Align the mark that was made on the distributor housing with the mark that was
         made on the cylinder head.
             o Distributor hold-down bolt(s)
             o Electrical connector(s)
             o Distributor cap
o Spark plug in the No. 1 cylinder and connect the spark plug wire
             o Negative battery cable
    7. Start the engine and check or adjust the ignition timing.
