Booker T. Washington had several qualities that made him a good leader, including a sense of belonging among other black people, heroes who inspired him to pursue education, and a strong sense of accomplishment from achieving his goal of helping black people receive an education. He was dedicated to his work as the principal of Tuskegee Institute, finding it fun and exciting, and was curious and creative in considering his students' perspectives and finding ways to help them succeed. Washington also demonstrated a spirit of adventure by walking across the country to pursue education, and showed leadership, responsibility, and confidence in following his dreams to build a school and teach.
