St. Saviour’s Pro-Cathedral Church Tour
During this year’s Columbia Basin Cultural Tour dis-

memorial stained glass windows at St.Saviour’s Anglican
Church.
The Church, located at the corner of Silica and Ward
Streets, will be open Saturday August 13 from 11am to
5pm and Sunday August 14 from 1 pm till 5pm as part of
the Tour. In addition to this; at 2 pm each day Local history
researcher, Greg Scott, will give a half-hour presentation
highlighting the people and history of the 16 memorial
stained glass windows and some of the memorial plaques
in the Church.
St. Saviour’s Pro-Cathedral is a by-law designated Heritage
Church built in 1898 and rebuilt in 1929 after a disastrous
fire. It is an excellent example of Gothic Perpendicular
church architecture and its impressive size and detailing
make the building a stand-out among much smaller, and
very simply detailed Protestant churches. The Church is
also open for self-guided tours 11 am to 3 pm Monday to
