This document provides guidance on analyzing iconic product designs. Students are instructed to consider five products and ask questions about each one to determine if it is a classic design. Specifically, they should research if the product was successful, defined a generation or time period, stood the test of time, was innovative, started new design trends or directions, and was influential. Analyzing products in this way will help students understand what qualities make a design truly iconic.
