This design document outlines a project to create templates for Global Sales Learning to support quick development of instructionally sound training materials by subject matter experts without needing an instructional designer. The templates will include guidelines for slide decks, scenario cards, and assessments. Instructional designers will create the templates, which will then be reviewed by content reviewers and approved by program managers. The project has defined milestones and stakeholders assigned roles in the development and approval process. The goal is to help SMB and GSO regions more easily create their own quantifiable training content.

Part A | High Level Assessment
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Global Sales Learning is proposing the creation of learning asset templates to support on-
going initiatives by SMB and GSO to deliver instructional sound material on a variety of top-
ics. Templates will have easy to fill in the blank guidelines, tips on how to keep the material
hands-on and quantifiable, and examples to glean or reverse engineer material in order to
support quick development cycles without the need of a formal instructional designer.
DELIVERY STRATEGY
Templates to be shared by GSL Program Managers. These templates will be designed for ILT
or virtual Live sessions.
WHAT THIS COURSE WILL NOT COVER
At this time, this project will not cover the delivery or program needs in order to execute. It
will only cover the template and material to produce instructionally sound material without
leveraging a formal instructional designer.
2. PART B – Target Audience
PRIMARY TARGET AUDIENCE
Anyone in GMS who is not an Instructional Designer and needs to develop their own training
material.
PART C – Business Goal
The business goal of this training is to support SMB and GSO with scalable training develop-
ment that they can do on their own, that is instructionally sound and quantifiable. Currently
some regions are doing on-going training but often this content isn’t quantifiable or hold the
same quality level.
PART D – Inhibitors & Risks
Concerns about this project and potential roadblocks are as follows:
● First project that supports SMB and GSO.
● Some overlap and duplications in roles, like two potential approvers.
● Delivery has not been identified for SMB.
● Haven’t identified what we are measuring to determine success.
○ Compare performance by attendees and non attendees (RPMM)
○ Once something is completed in the template, less time needed to revises and im-
prove it (RPMM)
○ Global adoption (SMB)
○ Template contains enough information that is can stand on its own (no additional
help or support needed).
● Delivery and using the template as intended
Q: Do we need to offer some kind of follow up on reviewing their material or offering a T3.
