GENERAL GUIDELINES
 1. First player is determined
by drawing lots.
 2. Basically, the rule in playing dama shall be
used as follows:
a. A “chip with numeral” moves
diagonally forward to an adjoining
vacant square.
b. A chip takes an opponents chip or chips
diagonally forward or backward.
Mathematical operation such as addition,
subtraction, multiplication, or division of
numerals shall be used depending on the
vacant squares operation symbol where
the “taker” chip lands by jumping over
the “taken” chip.
“Pass” is not allowed.
c. On taking a chip or chips the following policy
shall prevail;
 “mayor dalawa” (OBLIGADO DOS)
 “mayor tatlo” (OBLIGADO TRES)
 “mayor dama” (OBLIGADO DAMA)
 “mayor dos” or “ mayor tres” OVER “mayor
dama”
“mayor dalawa” (Obligado DOS )
“MAYOR TATLO” (OBLIGADO TRES)
“MAYOR DAMA” (OBLIGADO DAMA)
“MAYOR DOS” OVER “MAYOR DAMA”
“MAYOR TRES” OVER “MAYOR DAMA”
d. A player’s chip is declared as “dama” if it
reaches the other player’s designated
“dama” location or squares. A “dama” chip
can move or take piece to any unoccupied
square along the diagonal path. Moreover,
a “dama” score is doubled. In like
manner, a chip’s score is doubled if it
takes a “dama” chip.
e. In taking more than one chip, the
“taker” chip shall remains the initial
addend, minuend, multiplicand, or
dividend as the case may be, (This
means that MDAS for multiple
operations shall not apply in this case.)
f. A “MOVE(this includes moving the chip or
taking a chip & accomplishing the entry in the
SCORESHEET)” is good only for one (1)
minute, while the games duration shall not
exceed 20 minutes.
g. The value of the remaining chips shall be
added to the respective players score.
h. The game ends when any one of the following
situations occur:
• a player has no more chip to move
• 20-minute game duration had elapsed.
• Repetitive “moves” of any or both players.
 i. The player having the greater “total
score” wins the game. In case of a “tie”,
a 10 minutes rematch follows thereafter
until a winner is declared.
j. Only one score sheet shall be accomplished by
the two players whereby any incorrect entries
in the said score sheet shall be the sole
responsibility of each player. In case of
incorrect entries in the score sheet, a player has
to immediately call the attention of the
facilitator by raising his or her hand. As
determined by the facilitator any incidence of
incorrect journal entry in the score sheet a
corresponding point shall be deducted from the
erring players TOTAL SCORE, after correcting
said entry errors. The corresponding
deductions shall be as follows:
 5 points for DAMATH the Whole Numbers
 0.5 points for DAMATH the Decimals
 1 point for DAMATH the Positive &
Negative Fractions
 K. Facilitator’s /Arbiters decision is final and
unappealable.
IMPORTANT NOTES IN SCORING
 For DAMATH the Whole Numbers–
All SCORES must be a whole number.
Round off if necessary.
Calculator is only allowed to be used for
the computation of the GRAND TOTAL
SCORE
 For DAMATH the Decimals –
All SCORES must be in decimal.
Round off to the nearest hundredths
if necessary.
Calculator is only allowed to be used for
the computation of the GRAND TOTAL
SCORE.
DAMATH the Positive Fractions
SCORES must be expressed as a fraction.
Calculator is only allowed to be used for the
computation of the GRAND TOTAL SCORE
