Squanto was a member of the Patuxet Indians who helped the Pilgrims and arranged the first Thanksgiving. He assisted the Pilgrims when they first arrived in America and helped them survive their first year. Squanto's assistance to the Pilgrims led to the first Thanksgiving celebration.
