LOSS-MAKING airline Tigerair Mandala will cease
operating from July 1, its board announced on
Wednesday.Tiger Airways has a 35.8 per cent stake in the
bleeding Indonesia-based carrier; Saratoga Group and PT
Cardig International are the other key shareholders.
PASSENGER car COE (certificate of entitlement)
premiums continued to slide for a second tender, but
there appears to be different reasons for the softness in
Categories A and B.Cat A - for cars below 1,600cc and
130 hp - fell $1,301 to $61,899, while Cat B - for cars
above 1,600cc or 130 hp - slipped $1,604 to $65,700.
THE Ministry of Law said on Wednesday it has formed an
advisory committee on money-lending to review its
regulatory regime. The committee will look into a cap on
interest rates for money-lending loans, restrictions on
the charging of fees by money-lenders; and a cap on the
total amount of such loans taken out by each borrower.
