3. WHAT IS CYBER SECURITY
Cyber Security involves protection of sensitive
personal and business information through
prevention, detection and response to different
online attacks.

4. WHAT IS CYBER CRIME
Crime committed using a computer and the internet
to steal data or information is called Cyber Crime.
Cyber Crime refers to any crime that involves a
computer/mobile and a network. The computer may
have been used in the commission of a crime, or it
may be the target.

We categorize cyber crime into 2 parts :-
1. Computer as a weapon – eg. Cyber Terrosim

History
• The first recorded cyber crime took place in 1820.
• The first spam email took place in 1978 when it
was sent over the Arpanet.
• Th first virus was installed on an Apple computer in
1982.

8. Prevention
• Read privacy policy carefully before submitting the data on
internet
• Use antivirus softwares
• Maintain backups
• Use secure connections
• Use strong passwords
• Do not respond on emails from unknown resources

9. Conclusion
The key to protecting yourself is being aware. The only way to be
smart is to pay attention and to act smart. To be safe we must
need Cyber Security.
