This series is very well done, suspenseful, at least as much as possible, twisted and distorted like any crime series should be but unluckily it is biased. It states to anyone who wants to listen that crime has roots in only one thing: family dysfunctioning and nothing else. The fact that society leads some people who do not fit in the standard mold to rebellion, frustration and violence by being biased against them and bullying them all the time and if they want to have contacts with people, they have to go down on their knees and beg for a favor. That’s too bad because the cases in this rural north Wales area deserve a lot better, and probably, a more open vision of crime in this community.

2. DAZZLER MEDIA – HIDDEN / CRAITH – 2018
This series has a particularity. A great part of the dialogue, outside the police station and other public
services, is in Welsh with English subtitles. The viewers who do not like subtitles will be at a disadvantage.
But all the viewers in the world will have to understand that English is the official or standard language of the
United Kingdom, but in each component of this UK the local language, the local dialects, and the local
accents are valorized and protected as historical and cultural heritage. Since this series takes place in a rural
area in northern Wales, there is no escape for television there to use Welsh in many programs, what’s more
in series taking place in Wales.
The second remark is a warning. Each season is one story in one mini-series of 8, then 6, and 6
episodes each. Two seasons have on the DVD sleeves, a subtitle. Season 1 is “Some Scars Never Heal.”
Season 2 is “Lives Shattered Lives Rebuilt.” The third season has no subtitle on the front of the DVD box, but
a simple subtitle on the back: “The Final Groundbreaking Series.”
Each season, each story is vastly developed and researched but a few simple ideas emerge from the
three seasons. First of all, the present crime or dead body discovery necessarily has roots in the distant past
and that distant past is particularly grimy and bleak. In the first case, it is the story of a young woman found
in a suitcase in a river who had been missing since 2011. Then it becomes complicated. Three women are
brought together as abducted by a man. This man had been investigated and “proved” the guilty person by
the father of the main detective today. Sloppy and easy work. The daughter has to correct the case and get
the imprisoned innocent man out. Watch the season if you want to know more. We, of course, know this
much from the very start.
The second season deals with a retired teacher found killed, meaning assassinated after torture, in his
home. He had been under suspicion based on one report from one student who accused him of having
“touched” him. It takes us into the lowest dregs of society in the youth of this rural or semi-rural area, and it is
particularly vicious. The young people are identified but proving they are guilty is tricky. And the police as
well as the society are biased as soon as the word pedophilia is not even uttered, just hinted at. The society
has deep roots in anti-gay segregation if not a witch hunt. Let’s burn them all. The leader of the small gang is
a woman who has roots in her own past as a manipulator of people causing them to create mayhem and
consider and perform their own suicide. All that for her own pleasure.
The third season is bringing the series of mini-series to an end. This time it deals with neighborly
conflicts between one farming family and one working-class family. In both cases, serious family problems
exist with the death or disappearance of fathers, the accidental death of the mother in the miner’s case in a
home fire caused by arson. Two boys survive, one is a down-syndrome child and the other takes care of him

3. since the death of the mother. He has always looked for the one who held the struck match and when he
finally finds him it leads to a monstrous social case that has to take care of the handicapped son who is
attached to his brother who is going to prison. How can that situation be dealt with by a society that has
always rejected him, and he might have been the segregational reason why the arsonist committed his crime
to get rid of the “matrix” of such handicapped monstrous abnormal individuals?
Enjoy it all, and what I have said tells you so little. Personally, I regret that any disturbance in the
psychology of a person is always attached to some family drama, some family strife, some family drama. But
this series is a trap for the main character, DCI Cadi John. She is accepted for a promotion in Liverpool, but
that creates a problem with her partner, Rachel West, and in the end, she will tear up her acceptance letter.
No one can run away from this cesspool.

Cette série a une particularité. Une grande partie du dialogue, en dehors du commissariat et d’autres
services publics, se déroule en gallois sous-titré en anglais. Les téléspectateurs qui n’aiment pas les sous-
titres seront désavantagés. Mais tous les téléspectateurs du monde devront comprendre que l'anglais est la
langue officielle ou standard du Royaume-Uni, mais que dans chaque composante de ce Royaume-Uni, la
langue locale, les dialectes locaux et les accents locaux sont valorisés et protégés en tant qu'éléments
historiques de patrimoine culturel. Étant donné que cette série se déroule dans une zone rurale du nord du
Pays de Galles, la télévision de ce pays n’a pas d’échappatoire et doit utiliser le gallois dans de nombreux
programmes, qui plus est dans les séries se déroulant au Pays de Galles.

titre au dos : « La Saison Finale de cette saison époustouflante ».
Chaque saison, chaque histoire est largement développée et étudiée, mais quelques idées simples
émergent des trois saisons. Tout d’abord, le crime actuel ou la découverte de cadavres ont nécessairement
leurs racines dans un passé lointain et ce passé lointain est particulièrement sombre et sordide. Dans le
premier cas, c'est l'histoire d'une jeune femme retrouvée dans une valise dans une rivière et disparue depuis
2011. Puis ça se complique. Trois femmes sont rassemblées comme enlevées par un homme. Cet homme
avait fait l'objet d'une enquête et avait été « prouvé » coupable par le père de la détective principale
d'aujourd'hui. Travail bâclé et facile. La fille doit corriger l'affaire et faire sortir libre l'innocent emprisonné.
Regardez la saison si vous voulez en savoir plus. Bien entendu, nous savons cela depuis le début.
La deuxième saison traite d'un enseignant à la retraite retrouvé tué, c'est-à-dire assassiné après torture,
à son domicile. Il était soupçonné sur la base d'un seul rapport de dénonciation d'un seul étudiant qui
l'accusait de l'avoir « touché ». Cela nous entraîne dans les bas-fonds de la société chez la jeunesse de ce
milieu rural ou semi-rural, et c'est particulièrement vicieux. Les jeunes sont identifiés mais prouver leur
culpabilité est délicat. Et la police ainsi que la société sont partiales dès que le mot pédophilie n'est même
pas prononcé, mais simplement évoqué. La société a de profondes racines dans la ségrégation anti-
homosexuelle, voire dans une chasse aux sorcières contre eux. Brûlons-les tous. La chèfe du petit gang est
une femme qui a des racines dans son propre passé de manipulatrice des gens, les poussant à semer le
chaos autour d’eux et les menant au suicide. Et tout cela pour son propre plaisir.
La troisième saison met fin à la série de mini-séries. Cette fois, il s’agit de conflits de voisinage entre
une famille d’agriculteurs et une famille d’ouvriers. Dans les deux cas, de graves problèmes familiaux
existent avec la mort ou la disparition des pères, la mort accidentelle de la mère dans le cas de l’ouvrier
dans un incendie de maison provoqué par un pyromane. Deux garçons survivent, l'un est un enfant
trisomique et l'autre prend soin de lui depuis le décès de la mère. Il a toujours cherché celui qui tenait
l'allumette allumée et quand il l‘identifie enfin, cela débouche sur une monstrueuse affaire sociétale qui doit
prendre en charge le fils handicapé qui est attaché à son frère qui va en prison. Comment cette situation
peut-elle être gérée par une société qui a toujours rejeté ce fils trisomique, et il pourrait avoir été la raison

5. ségrégationnelle ou ségrégationniste pour laquelle le pyromane a commis son crime pour se débarrasser de
la « matrice » de ces individus handicapés, monstrueux et anormaux?
Profitez-en, et ce que je vous ai dit vous dit en fait si peu de choses. Personnellement, je regrette que
toute perturbation dans la psychologie d'une personne soit toujours liée à un problème familial, à un conflit
familial, à un drame familial. Mais cette série est un piège pour le personnage principal, DCI Cadi John. Elle
est acceptée pour une promotion à Liverpool, mais cela crée un problème avec sa compagne, Rachel West,
et à la fin, elle déchire sa lettre d'acceptation et promotion. Personne ne peut fuir un tel cloaque.
