Another of Datalog’s latest innovations is the GasWizard. This small probe
measures total gas in the drilling fluid without a traditional gas trap. For the first
time ever, GasWizard provides direct quantitative hydrocarbon gas measurement in
percent by volume, with a response time of up to 6 times x faster than traditional
gas traps. Our high-speed chromatograph is capable of analyzing the complete
range of hydrocarbon components (C1-C5, including CO2) in 30 seconds, allowing
for fast and accurate assessment of reservoir properties including geosteering
horizontal wells and determining gas-oil-water contacts.
