1. Cordova Middle Lady Cougars (2013 Memphis City Champions)
After finishing their regular season 15-0, last Wednesday, January 30, the Cordova Lady
Cougars won the school’s first Middle School City Championship by defeating Havenview
Middle School (55-29). In his first year as head coach, Rodney Newsom has done an excellent
job this season and plans to continue to grow the Cordova girls’ basketball program. Now the
girls have their sights on winning the West Tennessee Section State Championship which began
Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Kate Bond Middle.
