Confucius was a Chinese philosopher who lived from 551 to 479 BC and created a system of philosophy that focused on ethics and virtue. He believed people should cultivate themselves through study and self-reflection to achieve righteousness and avoid wrongdoing in order to create a harmonious social and political order.
