Communication hardware allows the transfer of data between computers and includes modems, hubs, and routers. A modem converts digital signals from computers to analog for phone lines and vice versa, enabling data transmission over phone lines. Hubs provide a common connection point for wired devices on a local area network. Routers direct computer transmissions to their correct destination on a network and allow multiple devices to share a single internet connection.
