A business process is a series of steps performed by stakeholders to achieve a goal and is the backbone of an organization. The steps include: (1) a sender develops an idea, (2) encodes it into a message using appropriate words, (3) produces the message using a medium like oral, written, or symbolic communication, (4) transmits the message through a channel like phone or email, (5) an audience receives the message by hearing, seeing or feeling it, (6) decodes the message to understand it, (7) responds to show understanding, and (8) provides feedback to the sender to ensure correct understanding.
