JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Attending to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action
in a timely manner.
 Provide professional support to the management team within the Division, helping to ensure
high quality service delivery and a coordinated response to clients.
 Make sure that any activity offered for the inspection has an approved shop drawing, method
statement (MS), Quality Control Procedure (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plan (ITP).
 Closely monitor site activities to ensure quality of work is in compliance with contract
requirements, good construction practice, only approved materials are used, compliance with
shop drawings.
 Make sure that the contractor’s personnel are using the latest edition of the approved shop
drawings, MS, QCP and ITP as per the project master index.

 Closely monitor concrete pours and check continuously concrete materials delivered to site,
ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, and ensure all concrete tests are carried out as per
contract requirements.
 Frequency checks formwork/shuttering systems and ensure quality, safety and constructability
aspects are met.
 Advise Planning Engineer and Construction Manager of any slippage of Progress regarding
site activities.
 Maintain records for daily activities on site including progress photos.
 Deals with municipality engineers and follow up concrete tests.
 Follow up with government departments regarding NOC certificate for new projects
 Leading weekly meeting discussing all project items with main and all sub-contractors.
 Follow up master plan schedule with planning engineer.
 Prepare monthly payment for main and sub-contractors.
 Nominate sub-contractors by making a comparison between them based on specifications and
prices.
 Check materials delivered are as approved and properly stored.
 Observe site safety procedures.
 Report any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with approved
drawing and specifications.
 Observe, check and record work execution is in accordance with approved methods.
