CITATION FOR ANDRINE JACKSON- SCOTT
July 25, 2014
Knutsford Court Hotel- Kingston
Mrs. Andrine Jackson Scott joined the Transport Authority’s family
twelve (12) years on June 1, 2002 in the capacity of Transport
Planner. She was later confirmed in the post on February 2003. One
year and six months later, her responsibilities were broadened and
she was appointed trainee Manager. Mrs. Scott proved faithful in the
overall performance of her duties and consequently was promoted to
the post of Manager for the Research and Statistics Department in
March 2005.
Just lookingatthis younglady’s pleasant, humble and small stature
one may be tempted to misunderstand the strength of her character.
However, the adage “do not judge a book by its cover” aptly describes
Mrs. Scott because she “likkle but she tallawah”. Indeed, she has
gained tremendous respect among her colleagues, for her honesty
and balanced contributions, particularlyas it relates to the Licensing

and Research portfolios. Mrs. Scott is very resourceful and has
intimate knowledgeable about the operations of the public
transportation sector. She has provided technical support for the
Licensing Committee for several years and has been openly
commended by the Chairman of the Board and other Directors who
serve on the Licensing committee for her work. Teamwork,
perseverance, dedication and tenacity may be considered hallmarks
of her tenure at the Transport Authority.
Under Mrs. Scott’s watch, the Authority’s major research projects
have been commended notonlywithin the Authority but from several
key external stakeholders. Of note she was commended bythe former
Minister of Transport, Works and Housing, Honorable Dr. Peter
Phillips forher presentation of the findings of the inaugural All Island
Survey in 2002. The department also received commendations from
the acclaimed researcher Don Anderson for the All Island Survey
which was conducted in 2008.
Additionally, during her tenure, Mrs. Scott has spearheaded several
successful projects including the

and Transportation Centres; and
The Rationalization of Route Taxi Associations.
Indeed, the Authority would have lost, a vast amount of institutional
knowledge with Mrs. Scott’s departure, had it not been that her
department has successfully implemented succession planning
strategies. Interestingly, this quiet, little lady ascribes her successes
and achievementsat the Authorityto God, who is her firm foundation
and the support of her family.
Today, as we celebrate Mrs. Scott’s contributionto the transportation
sector and bid her farewell, we pray that she will continue to be
guided by the principles of honesty and integrity, that the floodgates
of heaven will be opened over her life and that the God of heaven will
strengthen her, that the favor of God will precede her so that she will
experience increase promotions, honor, assets, and make a mark
wherever she goes that cannot be erased.
