Art theory and criticism have traditionally focused on hierarchical structures, but a circle model proposes a more egalitarian approach. This model positions the artist, artwork, and audience/critic in a non-hierarchical circle where all perspectives are valued equally. By replacing hierarchies with circles of shared experience and understanding, this model aims to make art theory and criticism more compassionate.
