 Founded by Jesus
 Christmas (December 25) marks the birth of Jesus, known as the
nativity. Jesus was born to a woman named Mary in Bethlehem.
 Palm Sunday (Sunday before Easter) is a celebration of Jesus’
    triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
 The Christian house of worship is called the church. Common
features of a church include large crosses on the exterior, stained
glass windows, pews, and a lectern.
 Christian worship is the most common
Christian practice. It involves praising God in
songs and speech, scripture readings, prayer,
and a variety of holy ceremonies/sacraments.
 In many Christian services, people celebrate
Eucharist. Eucharist is a reenactment of the
Last Supper in which Christians eat a small
piece of consecrated bread and drink a sip of
    wine/grape juice.
 A popular practice among Roman Catholic,
    Anglican, and Orthodox Churches,
confirmation is a sacrament that enables people
to confirm the promises made on their behalf at
    their baptisms.

Editor's Notes

  1. According to the Gospel of Matthew, wise men followed a bright star that led them to Jesus’ birthplace. They presented him with gifts of gold and myrrh. Modern-day celebrations of Christmas often include Christmas caroling, decorating a Christmas tree, and the exchange of gifts.Palm Sunday is called Palm Sunday because, upon Jesus’ arrival to Jerusalem, many people spread out palm branches on the ground before him to signify his kingship. Today, Christians celebrate Palm Sunday with joyous worship services, emphasizing Jesus Christ’s glory. Many Christian churches contain altars and tabernacles. Not every church will have the same features; this depends on the denomination of Christianity that the church worships. The Last Supper was Jesus’ last meal before his arrest and crucifixion. He told his disciples to eat bread and wine in memory of him.Confirmation is a sign of full membership and commitment to the Christian community. Their relationship with God is strengthened and deepened from confirmation.
