(Early teen Class)
SCRIPTURE READING
DEUTERONOMY 7:9 (NLT)
Understand, therefore that the LORD your
God is indeed God. He is the faithful God
who keeps His covenant for a thousand
generations and lavishes His unfailing love
on those who love Him and obey His
commands.
SERMON PART 1:
JACOB’S BIG LIE
GENESIS 27: 30 – 36 (NLT)
30 As soon as Isaac had blessing Jacob, and
almost before Jacob had left his father, Esau
returned from his hunting trip. 31 Esau prepared
his father’s favorite meat dish and brought it to
him. Then he said “I’m back, Father, and I have
the wild game. Sit up and eat it so you can give
me your blessing.” 32 But Isaac asked him “ Who
are you” Why, it’s me, of course he replied. “ It’s
Esau, your older son.”
GENESIS 27: 30 – 36 (NLT)
33 Isaac began to tremble uncontrollably and said,
“Then who was it that just served me wild game? I
have already eaten it, and I blessed him with an
irrevocable blessing before you came.” 34 When Esau
understood, he let out a loud and bitter cry. “ O my
father, bless me, too!” he begged. 35 But Isaac said ,
“Your brother was here, and he tricked me. He has
carried away your blessing.” 36 Esau said bitterly, “No
wonder his name is Jacob, for he has deceived me
twice, first taking my birthright and now stealing my
blessing. Oh, haven’t you saved even one blessing for
me?
Message
Jacob left His family broken and broken-
hearted.
But Jacob’s story doesn’t end in this sad place!
 God was about to do a might work in Jacob’s
life.
He was about to reveal to Jacob, how He
would continue to remain faithful to His
promises.
Preacher 2: Rogerlyn McLimby
(Primary Class)
SERMON PART 2:
GOD DREAM PROMISE
Genesis 28: 13 & 15 (ICB)
13 The Lord said, “ I 'am the Lord , the God of
Abraham, your grandfather. And I’ am the God of
Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the
land on which you are now sleeping. 15 I’ am with
you, and I will protect you everywhere you go.
And I will bring you back to this land. I will not
leave you until I have done what I have promised
you.”
Message
Despite anything that we might do, God will always be
at work, making a way for us to stay connected with
Him.
Although Jacob didn’t deserve it, God sent him a
special message of encouragement directly from Him.
This reassurance is good news to us, who may find
ourselves making mistakes or going through times that
are scary.
 God has promised to be faithful to those who follow
Him. He reaches out to us, He forgives us, provides for
us, and sustains us.
Preacher 3: Bernadine Bernard
(Early teen Class)
SERMON PART 3:
LABANS LABOR
Genesis 31: 49 (NLT)
“ This place was also called
Mizpah, for Laban said, “ May the
LORD keep watch between us to
make sure that we keep this treaty
when we are out of each other’s
sight.”
Altar Pray
May be there is something you would like to
share that has be difficult for you to go through.
Maybe some one has hurt your feelings, or
something has happened that has been unfair.
 Maybe you are facing a big change, when you
go through them.
 Choose one of your sheep cards, think about
where you may need peace, and bring the
card up and place it in the altar up front.
You may even use a pen or pencil to write on
your card.
Message
What could have been a
very dangerous situation,
God changed to be a
moment of peace.
Preacher 4: Emmanuel McLimby
(Early teen Class)
SERMON PART 4 :
WRESTLING WITH GOD
Genesis 32: 26 – 28(NLT)
26 Then the man said, “ Let me go, for it is
dawn.” But Jacob panted, “ I will not let you
go unless you bless me.” 27 “What is your
name?” the man asked. He replied,
“Jacob.” 28 “ Your name will no longer be
Jacob, “ the man told him. “ It is now Israel,
because you have struggled with both God
and men and have won.”
Message
Jacob was finally home.
 For the rest of his life, Jacob walked
with that same limp, and he carried
the name Israel with him as a forever
promise that he wrestled with God,
lived and received His blessing.
Preacher 5: David McLimby
(Junior Class)
SERMON PART 5 :
CHRIST OF THE COVER
John 14: 6 (NLT)
Jesus told him, “ I 'am the way,
the truth, and the life. No one
can come to the Father
except through me.
Romans 6: 23 (NLT)
For the wages of sin is
death, but the free gift of
God is eternal life through
Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 JOHN 1: 9 (NLT)
But if we confess our sins to
Him, He is faithful and just to
forgive us and to cleanse us
from every wrong.
Message
That is the same promise of the Cross.
We are not perfect, but God is.
We may sin but God forgives us. There may be times
where we are all alone, but God will be with us.
We may go through times where we are cheated by
others, but God will provide for us, we may have made
mistakes in our past, but God gives us new LIFE.
God and Jesus are the way…the truth and the LIFE.
The same God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all of
Jacob’s family is the same God we worship today!
Commitment To God

Will you choose to say YES to
Jesus?

Will you be forever changed by
Gods faithfulness?

Will you be given new life today
and everyday?

Would you be willing to share His
love?
Preacher 6: Sanjeev Philip
(Junior Class)
SERMON PART 6 :
WHAT IS A COVENANT?
Did you know that
everything God does is
based on covenant?
The Greek word for covenant in the new
Testament is diatheke. It’s pronounced
dee – ahay’-kay and means “ a
contract”.
The Hebrew word for covenant in the Old
Testament is beriyth. It’s pronounced as
ber – eeth’. It’s a “compact “ made by
passing through pieces of flesh.
When God makes a
covenant, it is a life long
promise that can never
be broken.
There are five (5) major examples of
covenant in the Bible.
This form a greater picture of God’s
saving action through Scripture,
beginning with Noah and coming to
fruition in the new covenant fulfilled
by the sacrifice of Jesus.
Genesis 8 - 9
COVENANT AT ARARAT
God made a covenant
with Noah and his sons
the sign of which was a
rainbow.
Genesis 12, 15, 17
God would:
offer protection,

and land to Abraham
and his descendants,

but they must follow the path of God.
Deuteronoy 28, Exodus 31
This is the covenant God
establishes with the people at Mt.
Sinai after He led them out of
Egyptian slavery. With it, God
supplies the Law that is meant to
govern and shape the people of
Israel in the promised land.
2 Samuel 7, Ps 72, Ps 89, Ps 132
This is a covenant where
God promises a
descendant of David to
reign on the throne over
the people of God.
Jeremiah 31: 31-34, Ezekiel 36: 22-32
The new covenant is the promise that
God makes with mankind that he will
forgive sin and restore communion
with those whose hearts believe in His
son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the mediator of the New
covenant, and His death on the cross
is the basis of the promise.
