Childhood obesity is my proposed research topic. The proposed study questions for the topic are as follows:  For children with obesity, how can regular physical workouts versus no regular physical exercises prevent the development of obesity-related health disorders and improve quality of life within a year?  How do good meals minimize the chance of acquiring obesity and its related health issues in children aged 5 to 18 years?  The research topic's data collection strategy includes the utilization of secondary sources of information. I shall, in particular, use the internet as my primary source of knowledge on the chosen topic. Because the internet contains a wealth of information, both current and historical, it will be a credible source of information (Andersson, 2018). In addition, I want to read a variety of books in order to learn more about my topic. For data collection, I will also rely on government sources such as the websites of government public health agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Despite the fact that the internet is a reliable source of information, I anticipate a number of potential challenges in the data collection process. Incredible information is one of these issues. Notably, the internet is awash with information, but some of it questionable (Varga, 2020). Another difficulty is that it may take me a long time to verify facts from internet sources. To assure the credibility of the material gathered, I shall seek information from trusted sources. I will specifically rely on data from reputable sources such as the CDC and WHO. 3. The video on ethical research was informative. I watched the
characters of the nurse and PI and selected the correct and
incorrect answers to see the different outcomes. As the nurse, I
can see how she was overworked and feeling pressure to make
sure all the patients met the criteria to be research study
participants. The PI was trying to enroll patients without going
through the appropriate protocol and it was up to the nurse to
remind the PI that the inclusion/exclusion criteria needs to be
met before the patient can be enrolled. The PI seemed to forget
about his oath to do no harm and was deceitful and willing to
falsify documents just to receive recognition.
The scenario where the nurse did not stand up to the PI and just
went with whatever the PI wanted so she would not create any
waves, resulted in detriment for everyone involved, especially
the patient. Clinical research coordinators should act as
advocates for study participants.
Ethics in research are clear-cut and require open and honest
communication to ensure everyone is on the same page. To
ensure my research is conducted in an ethical manner I will
make sure be open and honest with the participants and make
sure they clearly know that their protection is first and foremost
important. I will make sure to maintain anonymity and

In general, ethics is an important component in the delivery of
healthcare services. When performing research, particularly
clinical trials for fatal conditions, researchers frequently face
ethical dilemmas (Ngozwana, 2018). Families, for example,
want their family members to engage in clinical trials and will
go to any length to encourage their loved ones to join.
Researchers, on the other hand, want their clinical trials to be
successful, and they may disclose misleading study findings in
order to ensure that their clinical trials are as effective . One
thing I learnt from engaging in the interactive lessons is that

5. researchers must adhere to protocols when conducting research.
The presenter of the movie stated that one of the reasons for the
untimely death of two toddlers in the hospital was that persons
involved in the study did not follow protocols. As a result, it is
critical to guarantee that all study protocols are followed.
Because ethics in research is neither black and white,
researchers encounter gray areas, particularly in ethical
decision-making. Existing research on ethical behavior in
science presumes that scientists understand, recognize, and
completely agree on what constitutes ethical activity. This
assumption is motivated in part by the tendency of previous
studies to focus on uncommon instances of falsification and
plagiarism (Ravn & Srensen, 2021). Scientists may endorse
potentially unethical behavior or fail to see it as valid because
they believe it is beneficial to science. Research must be carried
out in an ethical manner.
I will obtain consent from research subjects to guarantee that
my research is conducted in an ethical manner. Consent is vital
since it demonstrates that the research participants are willing
to participate in the study. Furthermore, I shall be concerned
with protecting the privacy and confidentiality of research
participants and their information. One of the major obstacles I
may face is a lack of time to conduct the research. The research
may necessitate a significant amount of time, which may not be
available.
