THE EVILS OF EVOLUTION
A War Against God
1
Objectives
1.Introduce to you who is really
Charles Darwin
2.Emphasize that evolution is
more than just a theory, it is a
religion
2
3. Explain the damage that evolution had been done to
the society such as:
 Abortion
 Eugenics
 Racism
 Sexual Selection
3
Charles Robert
Darwin
(1809-1882)
“Modern day
father of
Evolution”
4
•The British naturalist Charles Darwin was considered
the first scientist to suggest that plants, animals, and
any other living organisms are not fixed and
unchanging or "immutable.“
•Like the other scientists who came before him,
Darwin suggested the proposition that species of
living organisms evolve, through time. His greatest
contribution to this idea was to show how evolution
took place by a process he called natural selection.
5
Aristotle
•(Greek philosopher) -
generally held that
species are fixed, or
permanent & do not
evolve.
Although Erasmus died 7 yrs. before Charles
was born, Charles grew up in a household
where his father Robert Darwin, had imbibed
Erasmus’s anti-Christian ideas. So disbelief
was an acceptable trait within the Darwin
family, perceived not as “a moral crisis or
rebellion but perhaps a filial duty
7
•Charles read & greatly admired Zoonomia
when he was 18
•It has been called ‘the first consistent all-
embracing hypothesis of evolution’, and was
published some 65 years before Charles
published his version of evolution 1859
8
Charles read Lamarck’s works
(3 assumptions about evolution)
9
• Charles Robert Darwin studied Divinity in Cambridge where
he met Adam Sedgwick (1785-1973) and the naturalist John
Henslow (1796-1861) who brought back his interest in
biology and geology.
• With the doctrine of the church and the influence of
Henslow, Darwin also rejected the idea of Lamarck that
"acquired characteristics are inheritable." But his faith
altered after his five-year mapping expedition with the
British Army on 1831. It was headed by Vice-Admiral Robert
FitzRoy (1805-1865) of the ship named H.M.S Beagle.
10
Darwin made observations on diversity of
organisms, fossils, comparison to South
American organisms, comparison among
the organisms in the Galapagos Islands
and adaptation enabling him to develop
his theory of evolution by natural
selection.
11
Galapagos
Spanish name “long-
neck giant tortoises”
Charles returned to
England in 1836 with his
convincing statement
that species evolve.
12
•Charles thinking was greatly
influenced by Thomas Malthus
•Charles popularized Adaptation,
Homology, Survival of the fittest &
Variation
13
Homology specifically, a
correspondence between structures
in separate life forms having a
common evolutionary origin, such
as that between flippers and hands.
14
Competition
Through this period of evolution, organism compete with one
another over space, food, and other things for survival, or
avoid being eaten, resist disease, or become parasites in
order to exist. The species which are not fit for survival or not
better adapted to environmental conditions die or are
eliminated. This process of natural evolution is called the
natural selection process or sometimes referred to as
"struggle for existence and the elimination of the unfit"
natural process of survival.
15
Charles Lyell
He was the geologist who
adapted & expanded
Hutton’s theory
Published a book “Principles
of Geology”
His work about the natural
forces that changed the Earth
gave a great impact on
Charles line of thought. 16
Thomas Huxley
British biologist, best known
for his active support of
Charles Darwin’sTheory of
Evolution
He was made a fellow of the
Royal Society
Deny the authority of the
Bible & God
He promoted Homosexuality 17
•Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto
vile affections: for even their women did change the
natural use into that which is against nature:
•Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the
natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one
toward another; men with men working that which
is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that
recompence of their error which was meet.
18
Charles Lyell
urges Charles
to write in
1859
19
His work, "On the Origin of Species," was met with vigorous,
academic and popular opposition. It carefully did not
mention any religious doctrine, which provided that species
were indeed, fixed, unchanging, and designed by God. But
little by), little, the ideas in the book changed the scientific
perspective of the natural world. Its central argument formed
the foundation for all modern biology, providing a simple,
but very powerful, explanation of all life forms both past and
present.
20
The Life of aTormented Evolutionist
• He became very afraid
• There should be no mirror in his room
• Debilitating sickness
• Stomach problem
• Before the publication of his book: heart palpitations, vomiting, eczema,
• one leg will swell every time he saw his book
• Fiery boils
• Black spots around his eyes
• Dizziness, fainting
• Hands trembling
21
•For 25 yrs. he experienced extreme flatulence,
shivering, hysterical crying, dying sensation, air
fatigue
•Very scared when her wife is leaving her
•He died on April 19, 1882 and in his deathbed he
quote “ I have devoted my life into a fantasy” & his
last words “Oh God! Oh Lord God!
22
Value: It matters what you teach
• The message for us today is to consider what we pass on to our
children & grandchildren. We have the responsibility to teach
them the true biblical worldview, which is foundational, not only
to our need for salvation, but also to the way of it – through
repentance & faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, in His death &
resurrection.
• This will give meaning to their lives, so that they need not
founder in the sea of uncertainty of a man made anti-God
theory, which is now “the big lie” of 21st century thinking.
23
MATTHEW 16.26 KJB “FOR WHAT IS A
MAN PROFITED, IF HE SHALL GAIN THE
WHOLE WORLD, AND LOSE HIS OWN
SOUL? OR WHAT SHALL A MAN GIVE IN
EXCHANGE FOR HIS SOUL?
(See also Mark 8.36-37, Luke 9.25)
24
•John 8:32 And ye
shall know the truth,
and the truth shall
make you free. 25

Editor's Notes

  • #2 Intellectual/Scientific revolutions that defined society ideas
  • #3 EXPOSE THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS THEORY
  • #6 CONSTANT
  • #8 E. D’s famous grandson learned early about evolution:
  • #9 Erasmus influence on Charles
  • #10 Erasmus developed a theory of evolution more closely aligned with Lamarck's ideas. Theory of need Theory of use & disuse Theory of passing on acquired traits
  • #11 While he set out aboard the HMS Beagle on his round the world trip in 1831, he was reading a book against the bible (Hinduism) Charles sea voyage at the age of 22, profoundly influenced his thinking: he was fascinated of the sights of nature & species he saw
  • #12 By merely observing:
  • #14 In his “Essay on the Principle of Population” T.M. NOTED THAT THERE WAS THE POTENTIAL FOR A RAPID INCREASE IN THE NO. OF SPECIES THROUGH REPRODUCTION Charles gave his utmost concern about the increasing human population
  • #15 The relationship, between characteristics or behaviours, of having a shared evolutionary or developmental origin Charles Darwin - Darwin had two (2) natural evolution theories: The Origin of Species (1859) and Descent of Man (1871). He held that man descended from apes.
  • #16 Malthus ideas lead Charles to understand the “struggle” in nature” better. Struggle for existence results from competition among organisms for available necessities of life (food & living space)
  • #17 English scientist 12 yrs. older than Charles
  • #18 Causes STDs or STIs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases/Infections) Ex. AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome)
  • #19 Again I am going to quote verse from the bible about homosexuality
  • #20 This is the true title of the book In some textbooks they just write on the origin of species but this is actually the true title of C.D. book Analyze He proposed this idea in his work, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural al Selection, published in London in 1859. Darwin aptly described the book as "one long argument." Charles Darwin - Darwin had two (2) natural evolution theories: The Origin of Species (1859) and Descent of Man (1871).
