Stanley Yelnats
Physical description !!!
● The only information about his physical appearance is that Stanley
is white, tall and overweight and the kids at school often tease him
about his size. He is an overweight.
● Stanley is an innocent, kind hearted, loves and respects his parent’s.
● Stanley Yelnats is a shy, awkward boy who comes from an
overprotective family. He often lacks self-confidence. Stanley has a
dry sense of humor and sees the positive in unfortunate
situations.He has self - esteem.
Their action and behaviour in the
story
● Stanley, the protagonist of the novel, is an overweight
youngster who has had a series of terrible luck. He is sent to the
Camp Green Lake juvenile crime centre after being declared of
a crime he did not commit. Stanley, who is nonviolent and
generally nice, has a terrible time at school and at camp. He
grows physically stronger and more self-assured as a result of
his experiences at the dreadful Camp Green Lake. He meets
Zero, another camper, and through their relationship, he is able
to break his family's curse.
X - Ray
Physical description !!!
● Since he can't see well, X-Ray wears glasses and constantly uses the same shovel, which
he claims is the shortest.
● X-Ray is clearly jealous, if not blatantly threatened, that more attention is being given to
Stanley and Zero.
Their action and behaviour in the
story
● At Camp Green Lake, X-Ray is the leader of a gang of boys. Despite his lack of height and
poor eyesight, he manages to address these issues and command the other boys. He
shows kindness to Stanley , offers him the gold tube that he discovers in the ground.
Zero
(Hector Zeroni)
Physical description !!!
● Zero has dark skin and is short in height.
● He doesn’t know how to read or write, though is intelligent and is
particularly good in math.
● He is quiet (indeed, he rarely talks), and he is reluctant to share his
thoughts, feelings, or emotions. His entire face is covered with a rare
smile. Since he literally keeps to himself and hides what he's thinking
and feeling
● Zero is quiet because he dislikes answering queries and, more
importantly, because he is afraid of strangers.
Their action and behaviour in the
story
● Zero is a young Camp Green Lake kid who gets friends with
Stanley. Zero is the best digger, but the counselors and the
other guys think he's a moron. Zero is actually quite intelligent,
despite the fact that he has never been taught to read. , the
woman who cursed Stanley's family, has a great-great-great-
grandson named Zero. Zero has been through a lot in his life,
even more than Stanley, yet he never gives up and constantly
displays great courage and determination.
