Badrinath The first shrine in the Char Dham Yatra is Badrinath, located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Dedicated to
Lord Vishnu, Badrinath temple is situated at an elevation of 10,279 feet above sea level, amidst the beautiful and serene
backdrop of the Neelkanth Peak. The temple is believed to be over a thousand years old and is one of the most significant
pilgrimage sites in India.
Kedarnath Kedarnath is the second shrine in the Char Dham Yatra and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located at
an altitude of 11,755 feet in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The temple is believed to have been built by the
Pandavas during the Mahabharata era and is considered to be one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India.
Gangotri Gangotri is the third shrine in the Char Dham Yatra and is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The temple is located in
the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand and is situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters above sea level. The temple is believed
to have been built by the Maratha General, Amar Singh Thapa, in the 18th century.
Yamunotri Yamunotri is the fourth and final shrine in the Char Dham Yatra and is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. The
temple is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand and is situated at an altitude of 3,293 meters above sea level.
The temple is believed to have been built by the sage, Asit Muni, in the 19th century.
