Under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, there are two basic ways to file for personal bankruptcy: Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy. While both Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies are definite ways to get relief from unmanageable debt burdens, the approach that each initiates is singular in nature. However, both provide the consumers with an opportunity to have a fresh start. Though the bankruptcy processes are quite difficult and often confusing, we have tried to present it in a simplified way through this infographic.
