Les résultats sont catastrophiques, avec -35,1% de parts de marché sur 1 an, selon IDC, BlackBerry vient de sortir du Top 3 des vendeurs mondiaux d’OS pour Smartphones (1) et est désormais devancé par un flegmatique Windows 8.
Certes la situation de la firme canadienne semblait déjà moyennement engagée et ce bien avant la désormais célèbre prédiction de son CEO Thorsten Heins "In five years I don't think there'll be a reason to have a tablet anymore" (2), phrase en réalité sortie d’une partie de son contexte par les journalistes, mais il semblerait que BlackBerry ne soit pas forcément en train de foncer droit dans le mur.
En effet, au delà de l’annonce de son nouvel OS BB10, une vision à long terme du marché, construite autour de 2 axes stratégiques pertinents, semble donner beaucoup plus de crédit à l'hypothèse d'un retour en force des parts de marché BlackBerry.
1- Axe 1 : Le renforcement de sa position sur le marché du Mobile Device Management (MDM). Ainsi, le BlackBerry Entreprise Server (BES) évolue, "Secure Work Space" vient combler une brèche et permet dorénavant aux DSI de faire du BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) et ce sur de l'Android ou de l'iOS tout en continuant à s’appuyer sur un puissant module de sécurité. Certes les ventes de BlackBerry s’effondrent au 1er trimestre 2013, mais on ne change pas du jour au lendemain ni sa flotte de Smartphone entreprise ni son outil de gestion de flotte dédiée, qui plus est lorsque ces derniers répondent en tout points aux attentes de la DSI. Tout comme l’effet d’inertie joue en faveur de Windows sur le marché des OS en entreprise, il jouera en faveur des entreprises engagées avec BlackBerry.
2- Axe 2 : Le "Mobile Computing". Vision que le PDG de BlackBerry résume de la sorte : au lieu d'avoir un Smartphone à 600€ et une tablette à 600€, pourquoi ne pas avoir un Smartphone à 600€ et n devices périphériques "écrans" bien moins chers qui se contenteront d'afficher des informations "Powered" par un Smartphone… BlackBerry évidemment ! En effet, si la mésaventure de l’unique tablette BlackBerry « Playbook », n’a pas entrainé la faillite du groupe, elle semble avoir fortement incité les administrateurs de la firme à se poser la question de la pertinence pour les fabricants et utilisateurs du modèle « 1 device, 1 OS » (3) tel que proposé par Apple sur le haut de gamme et Android sur l’ensemble des gammes. BlackBerry propose ainsi avec son « Mobile Computing » une alternative séduisante au modèle classique, reste à voir comment et quand ce mobile computing va se matérialiser.
Loin de s'avouer vaincu, BlackBerry semble ainsi jouer, plus que jamais, la carte du marché des OS pour Smartphones corporate autour d'une véritable vision orientée utilisateur. Vision qui à également le mérite de ne pas être celle de ses deux premiers concurrents Apple et Android.

Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

Power Grid Model
The global energy transition is placing new and unprecedented demands on Distribution System Operators (DSOs). Alongside upgrades to grid capacity, processes such as digitization, capacity optimization, and congestion management are becoming vital for delivering reliable services.
Power Grid Model is an open source project from Linux Foundation Energy and provides a calculation engine that is increasingly essential for DSOs. It offers a standards-based foundation enabling real-time power systems analysis, simulations of electrical power grids, and sophisticated what-if analysis. In addition, it enables in-depth studies and analysis of the electrical power grid’s behavior and performance. This comprehensive model incorporates essential factors such as power generation capacity, electrical losses, voltage levels, power flows, and system stability.
Power Grid Model is currently being applied in a wide variety of use cases, including grid planning, expansion, reliability, and congestion studies. It can also help in analyzing the impact of renewable energy integration, assessing the effects of disturbances or faults, and developing strategies for grid control and optimization.
