Marketing and ethics, seemingly two antithetical terms due to the numerous marketing activities, especially in the past, characterized by a violation of the principles of fairness, transparency and respect for the rights of consumers and society as a whole. How can we change this negative connotation? Fortunately someone is trying to change this negative connotation, adopting paradoxical communication campaigns that seem to have just the opposite goal of what is traditionally attributed to the term marketing.
EmojiNet: An Open Service and API for Emoji Sense DiscoverySanjaya Wijeratne
This paper presents the release of EmojiNet, the largest machine-readable emoji sense inventory that links Unicode emoji representations to their English meanings extracted from the Web. EmojiNet is a dataset consisting of: (i) 12,904 sense labels over 2,389 emoji, which were extracted from the web and linked to machine-readable sense definitions seen in BabelNet; (ii) context words associated with each emoji sense, which are inferred through word embedding models trained over Google News corpus and a Twitter message corpus for each emoji sense definition; and (iii) recognizing discrepancies in the presentation of emoji on different platforms, specification of the most likely platform-based emoji sense for a selected set of emoji. The dataset is hosted as an open service with a REST API and is available at http://emojinet.knoesis.org/. The development of this dataset, evaluation of its quality, and its applications including emoji sense disambiguation and emoji sense similarity are discussed.
International marketing plan to export wine in Mexico. The case: Serena Wines...Michael Mazzer
The wine market in Mexico is growing. In the last ten years imports have been tripled and the forecast predict a further strong increase in the coming years. Considering these results, this thesis aims to create an international marketing plan to launch of one or more Serena Wines brands or, if necessary, to create a specific one for the Mexican market.
Considering that the company has never exported to Mexico, very important is to analyze this market in order to implement an export strategy by a market entry plan and a supporting marketing mix.
The thesis contains five chapters. In the first chapter the SME’s methods of approach to international markets are introduced, while in the second one the agri-food sector and in particular the wine sector (in Italy and in the main international markets) are taken into consideration. In the third and fourth chapters the main topic of the thesis is developed through the Mexican business analysis and the company’s description. Finally, in the fifth chapter, the strategic orientation decided by the company and the specific goals for the Mexican market, are explained.

The project aims to analyze the market (import, export, labeling, China Compulsory Certification) and Chinese culture (colors, materials, numbers, sizes and aspects, idea of beauty and food culture) to understand how an Italian company should adapt your own product to successfully export it to China.
Industral law: judgement between "Il Bisonte Srl" and "The Bison".Michael Mazzer
The project aims to analyze a judgement of industrial law about brand forgery (also known as brand piracy or counterfeiting), unfair competition and confusion between brands. In particular, in this judgement "Il Bisonte Srl" believes that the "The Bison" trademark represents a forgery of the brand "Il Bisonte" (Article 20 of the CPI) and also believes that the conduct of the industry “The Bison” would be servile imitation, appropriation of merit and professional impropriety.
Course tailored at providing strategic and operational knowledge to implement an inbound marketing strategy.
